Job Description
WRAL is seeking energetic and curious high school students to join our team for a summer internship program! This is a fantastic opportunity for students interested in learning about the exciting world of broadcast journalism. Interns will gain valuable hands-on experience alongside industry professionals in various departments at WRAL.
Responsibilities
- Assist WRAL staff with daily tasks, such as research, content creation, and social media management.
- Shadow reporters, producers, and editors to learn about the newsgathering process.
- Gain experience in different areas of media production, including videography, editing, and audio production (depending on the department).
- Attend editorial meetings and brainstorm story ideas.
- Participate in professional development workshops and discussions.

Requirements
- Currently enrolled as a high school student in North Carolina.
- Minimum GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale).
- Strong interest in journalism, media, or communications.
- Excellent communication, writing, and research skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
Skills
- Strong writing and editing skills.
- Proficient in social media platforms.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.
- Time management and organizational skills.
- Attention to detail.
Experience
- Previous experience in journalism, media production, or communications is a plus, but not required.
