Job Overview
The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) is seeking passionate graduate students and recent graduates to join its Internship Graduate Program for 2024. This is an incredible opportunity to gain firsthand experience working on global refugee issues alongside dedicated professionals.
Job Roles
Interns will be placed on specific projects based on their skills and interests, but some general responsibilities may include:
- Researching and analyzing data related to refugee situations.
- Assisting with program development and implementation.
- Drafting reports and other communications materials.
- Supporting with advocacy and outreach efforts.
- Contributing to fundraising initiatives.
Education Requirements
- Current enrollment in a graduate program at a UNESCO-accredited university (or equivalent).
- Recent graduates (within the past two years) with a relevant undergraduate degree are also eligible.
Experience Requirements
- Prior experience is not mandatory, but an internship or volunteer work in a related field is a plus.
Skills Requirements
- Strong research and analytical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Proficiency in additional UN languages (French, Spanish, Arabic) is a benefit.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong computer literacy with proficiency in relevant software (MS Office Suite, etc.).
