Responsibilities:

Varies by department and location: Responsibilities will depend on your assigned team and chosen area of interest. Examples include:

  • Program Support: Assisting with research, data analysis, report writing, and project management.
  • Policy and Advocacy: Contributing to policy research, drafting communication materials, and supporting advocacy campaigns.
  • Communications and Outreach: Generating content for social media, website, and publications, supporting event planning, and assisting with media outreach.
  • Sustainable Development: Participating in field research, conducting data analysis, and supporting community-based development projects.
  • Other departments: Engaging in diverse tasks under the guidance of your mentor, demonstrating initiative and a commitment to learning.

Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in a relevant undergraduate or graduate program (e.g., international development, public policy, environmental science, communications).
  • Strong commitment to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
  • Excellent research, analytical, and writing skills.
  • Collaborative spirit and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in English and additional languages a plus (depending on location).
  • Openness to diverse cultures and willingness to adapt to new environments.

Skills & Experience:

  • Previous experience in development work, research, or relevant fields is a plus, but not required.
  • Familiarity with UN processes and SDGs is advantageous.
  • Basic knowledge of relevant software tools like MS Office Suite (depending on the department).
