Job Description
Transport for Wales is offering internships across several departments, including engineering, project management, communications, marketing, and digital services. Interns will work on impactful projects and receive mentorship from professionals in the transport industry.

- Duration: 8–12 weeks
- Location: Various TfW offices (Wales-based)
- Start Date: June 2024

Responsibilities
- Assist in project planning and delivery in areas such as infrastructure, rail services, or digital transformation
- Conduct research, gather data, and analyze information to support transport initiatives
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve operational efficiency and service quality
- Assist in the development and execution of communication campaigns or marketing strategies
- Provide administrative support to ensure the smooth running of departmental activities
- Participate in stakeholder meetings and offer insights or ideas for innovation
- Contribute to reports, presentations, and project updates for senior staff
- Engage with TfW’s sustainability and environmental initiatives, helping promote green transport solutions
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or postgraduate program (relevant degrees include Engineering, Business, Marketing, Communications, Environmental Science, and others)
- Expected to graduate in 2025 or later
- Must be eligible to work in the UK for the duration of the internship
- A keen interest in the transport sector and public service
Experience
- Prior internships or part-time work experience in transport, engineering, project management, marketing, or communications is advantageous but not required
- Participation in university projects, student societies, or volunteer work is beneficial
- Experience in research, data analysis, or digital tools will be considered a plus
Skills
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Analytical thinking with problem-solving capabilities
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Organizational skills, with attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively
