Position Purpose:
Specsavers Internship is seeking enthusiastic individuals to join our Apprenticeship Program for 2024 through an Apprenticeship. This program offers aspiring professionals the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced, customer-focused optical and hearing care environment. Our Apprenticeship program is designed to provide you with the knowledge, skills, and qualifications needed to kick-start your career in the optical or hearing care industry.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in the daily operations of the store, including customer service, product advice, and sales support.
- Participate in the preparation of eye or hearing tests and ensure that all necessary equipment is ready.
- Learn to use various optical and hearing care equipment under the guidance of qualified professionals.
- Shadow senior staff in consultations and assist in maintaining patient records.
- Provide excellent customer service by helping customers choose appropriate eyewear or hearing aids.
- Collaborate with colleagues to meet store targets and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Support the merchandising and replenishment of stock, ensuring that displays are appealing and well-organized.
- Ensure adherence to health and safety protocols, including cleaning and sanitizing workspaces.
- Participate in training sessions to learn about Specsavers products, customer service standards, and industry regulations.
Education:
- A minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent), ideally including English and Maths.
- Strong interest in healthcare, retail, or optical services.
- Additional qualifications related to health or retail are a plus but not required.
Experience:
- Previous experience in customer service, retail, or healthcare settings is desirable but not essential.
- Experience in a fast-paced work environment or working as part of a team is beneficial.
Skills:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with customers and colleagues.
- Willingness to learn and develop new skills in the optical and hearing care industry.
- Attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions and guidelines precisely.
- A customer-focused approach with a passion for delivering excellent service.
- Basic computer literacy and familiarity with using standard office software.
