Position Purpose:
The Northern Health and Social Care Trust Internship 2024 program offers students and recent graduates a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience within the healthcare sector. Interns will work alongside professionals in various departments, contributing to projects that enhance healthcare delivery, improve patient outcomes, and support community wellbeing. Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in supporting healthcare services, including patient care, administration, public health initiatives, or healthcare management.
- Participate in research projects, data analysis, and report preparation to support evidence-based decision-making in healthcare policies and practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve healthcare services, implement new initiatives, or support clinical operations.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of health campaigns, workshops, or community outreach programs.
- Provide administrative support, including scheduling meetings, maintaining patient records, and coordinating communication between teams.
- Engage with patients, staff, and the community to gather feedback and improve the quality of care and services.

- Work closely with mentors and supervisors to achieve the learning outcomes of the internship program.
Education:
- A minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths (Grade 4/C or above).
- Current enrollment in or recent graduation from a degree program in fields such as Healthcare, Nursing, Public Health, Social Work, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
Experience:
- No prior work experience is required, but any previous internship, voluntary work, or relevant experience in healthcare, social services, or community care is an advantage.
Skills:
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage professionally with healthcare professionals, patients, and the public.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to contribute to healthcare research and service improvement.
- Organizational and time-management skills, with an ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a healthcare team environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) or other relevant software.
- Empathy and a genuine interest in improving healthcare services and patient wellbeing.
