Calling all passionate music lovers and aspiring journalists! Kerrang!, the iconic rock magazine, is searching for enthusiastic interns to join their team for the 2024 Summer Internship Programme. This is your chance to gain invaluable experience in the fast-paced world of music journalism, working alongside industry professionals and contributing to a legendary publication.
Responsibilities
- Assist editors with research, interviews, and content creation for Kerrang!’s various platforms (print and online).
- Conduct interviews with musicians and industry figures (potential, depending on the internship focus).
- Write music reviews, news articles, and features, fostering your writing skills under editorial guidance.
- Assist with social media content creation and audience engagement (potential, depending on the internship focus).
- Experience the inner workings of a leading music publication and contribute to its continued success.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s program in journalism, English, music, or a related field.
- Deep knowledge and passion for rock and alternative music genres.
- Excellent writing and communication skills with a strong command of the English language.
- A keen eye for detail and a commitment to accuracy.
Experience (Preferred, but not mandatory)
- Previous experience writing for student publications, music blogs, or online platforms (a plus).
Skills
- Excellent research and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines effectively.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
