The D. E. Shaw Group is seeking talented and driven students to join our internship program for the 2024/2025 academic year. We offer internships across various disciplines, including quantitative research, software development, and fundamental research analysis. As a De Shaw intern, you’ll gain exposure to cutting-edge technologies and methodologies used in the world of quantitative finance and investing. You’ll collaborate with experienced professionals on real-world projects, develop your technical and analytical skills, and experience the dynamic environment of a leading financial firm.
Responsibilities (Varies by Internship)
- Assist senior staff with research, analysis, and project development.
- Conduct research on financial markets, companies, or industries.
- Design and implement software applications for trading and risk management.
- Contribute to the development and execution of investment strategies.
- Participate in meetings and presentations.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in a relevant field (e.g., finance, mathematics, computer science, engineering, physics)
- Strong academic record with a focus on quantitative subjects (a plus)
Experience (Preferred)
- Prior internship experience in a related field (a plus)
- Experience with programming languages and financial modeling tools (specifics will vary by internship)
