Job Description
The Civil Nuclear Constabulary (CNC) is offering an exciting internship opportunity for 2024/2025 to students and recent graduates interested in a career in national security, law enforcement, and protecting critical infrastructure. This paid internship is designed to provide valuable experience in policing, security operations, and support roles within the CNC, which safeguards the UK’s nuclear assets. Participants will gain hands-on experience, mentoring, and exposure to projects that are critical to national security.
Responsibilities
Interns will work closely with experienced officers and staff in various departments within the CNC. Depending on the specific role, responsibilities may include:
- Assisting in security operations and learning operational protocols for nuclear facilities.
- Supporting intelligence-gathering efforts and analyzing data relevant to CNC missions.
- Participating in administrative tasks, project management, and department-specific projects.
- Attending workshops and training sessions on relevant law enforcement, cybersecurity, and crisis response.
- Collaborating with internal teams and external partners to support mission-critical activities.
- Engaging in shadowing and mentoring opportunities with CNC professionals.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a university or college, with a preference for studies related to law enforcement, security studies, criminology, law, cyber security, or related fields.
- Must be over the age of 18 and eligible to work in the UK.
- Must pass security clearance checks and background verifications.
Experience
- Previous internship or voluntary experience in security, law enforcement, or government services is a plus but not required.
- Experience in leadership roles or involvement in extracurricular activities related to public service or community safety is advantageous.
Skills
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration.
- Problem-solving: Ability to think critically and adapt in challenging or unfamiliar situations.
