Cafcass (Children and Family Court Advisory and Support Service) is offering exciting internship opportunities for 2024/2025. Responsibilities
As an intern at Cafcass, you will:

  • Support Family Court Advisers in their work with children and families during court proceedings.
  • Assist with research, case analysis, and report preparation for court hearings.
  • Participate in meetings, observations, and case reviews alongside experienced social workers and legal professionals.
  • Contribute to the development of resources and tools used to support children’s welfare in legal settings.
  • Learn and adhere to safeguarding protocols and best practices in child welfare.
  • Assist in administrative tasks and data management to ensure effective case processing.
  • Participate in internal training and development sessions to understand child protection laws and procedures.

Qualifications
To qualify for the Cafcass internship, candidates must:

  • Be currently enrolled in a degree program in social work, psychology, law, or a related field, or have recently graduated within the past 12 months.
  • Demonstrate a strong interest in child welfare, family law, and social justice.
  • Have the legal right to work in the UK.

Experience

  • Previous experience in social work, family services, or working with children (e.g., through internships, volunteer work, or academic projects) is advantageous but not required.
  • Familiarity with safeguarding practices or child protection issues is a plus.
