Job Description:

Responsibilities:
- Support economic research and policy analysis by gathering and interpreting data.
- Assist in preparing reports, briefings, and presentations for senior staff and stakeholders.
- Contribute to key projects within your assigned department (e.g., Monetary Analysis, Financial Stability, Banking Supervision).
- Participate in discussions and meetings that help shape the direction of policies affecting the UK economy.
- Conduct financial market analysis and assist with the monitoring of financial institutions.
- Collaborate with team members to solve complex economic and financial issues.
- Help to maintain and update databases and models used for economic forecasting and analysis.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and contribute to maintaining financial stability.
Qualification:
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program, preferably in Economics, Finance, Business, Mathematics, or related disciplines.
- Strong academic performance with at least a 2:1 (or equivalent) is preferred.
- Demonstrated interest in central banking, economics, finance, or public policy.
- Ability to commit to a 6-12 week internship during summer 2024.
Experience:
- Previous internships or coursework in economics, finance, data analysis, or policy analysis will be advantageous.
- Familiarity with economic concepts, financial systems, or quantitative analysis tools is a plus.
- No prior work experience is required, but a proactive and inquisitive mindset is essential.
Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and present findings clearly.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work to deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Basic knowledge of data analysis tools or programming languages (e.g., Python, R, Stata) is an advantage.
- A strong sense of teamwork and collaboration, with the ability to work independently when necessary.
