Position Purpose:
Aberdeenshire Council is offering internship opportunities for 2024, designed to provide students and recent graduates with hands-on experience in local government. Interns will gain valuable insights into the workings of public services and contribute to various departments, including education, finance, environmental services, and community development. Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in the day-to-day operations of your assigned department.
- Support ongoing projects by conducting research, data analysis, and reporting.
- Participate in meetings, workshops, and team collaborations.

- Engage with community stakeholders and assist with public outreach efforts.

Education:
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in a relevant field (e.g., public administration, environmental science, business, education, IT, etc.).
- High school diploma or equivalent may be considered depending on experience and qualifications.
Experience:
- Previous work or volunteer experience in public service, community engagement, or a related field is an advantage but not required.
- Understanding of local government operations is a plus but not mandatory.
Skills:
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Problem-solving abilities and critical thinking.
- Time management and ability to meet deadlines.
- A proactive approach to learning and adaptability to new environments.
