Job Description:
The British Film Institute (BFI) is excited to offer internship opportunities for students passionate about film, culture, and the creative industries. This internship program is designed to provide valuable hands-on experience in various departments, giving you a unique insight into the workings of the UK’s leading film organization. You will have the opportunity to contribute to ongoing projects, gain professional skills, and network with industry experts.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in day-to-day operations within your assigned department (e.g., programming, marketing, archiving, education).
- Contribute to ongoing projects by conducting research, preparing materials, and supporting team activities.
- Support events, screenings, and festivals organized by the BFI, including BFI Southbank and BFI London Film Festival.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, offering administrative support when required.
- Assist in maintaining databases, handling communications, and preparing reports.
- Help promote the BFI’s activities across various platforms, including social media and digital channels.
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a university program (undergraduate or postgraduate), preferably in film studies, media, communications, or a related field.
- A strong interest in film, media, and the creative industries.
- Authorization to work or intern in the UK for the duration of the internship.
Experience:
- Prior experience in film, media, marketing, or event management is a plus but not mandatory.
- Involvement in extracurricular activities related to film, arts, or culture would be advantageous.
Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational abilities with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Knowledge of social media platforms and digital communication tools.
- Enthusiasm for film and the wider cultural sector.
