Position Purpose:
Smyths Toys Vacancies Superstores is excited to offer internship opportunities for 2024, providing passionate individuals with the chance to gain hands-on experience in the world of retail and toy sales. Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in day-to-day store operations, including stocking shelves, organizing product displays, and maintaining cleanliness in the store.
- Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers with product inquiries, recommendations, and purchases.
- Support the team in managing inventory, ensuring shelves are stocked with the latest toys and games.
- Learn and apply merchandising techniques to create attractive product displays that enhance customer experience.
- Operate the point-of-sale system for transactions and provide checkout assistance when needed.
- Help with promotional events and in-store activities, ensuring smooth operation and positive customer engagement.
- Work closely with store management and team members to understand business objectives, sales targets, and customer satisfaction strategies.
- Participate in product knowledge training sessions to stay updated on the latest toys, trends, and brand offerings.
- Assist with stocktaking and inventory checks to ensure accurate product counts and reorder management.
- Follow health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for customers and staff.
Education:
- No specific formal education is required, but applicants should have an interest in retail, customer service, and the toy industry.
- High school-level qualifications (GCSEs or equivalent) are preferred but not mandatory.
Experience:
- Previous experience in retail or customer service is a plus but not essential.
- Experience working in fast-paced environments or dealing with the public is beneficial.
- Interest in toys, gaming, or children’s entertainment is a strong advantage.
