Position Purpose
The Swissport Internship Programme 2024 is designed to provide hands-on experience in various facets of airport ground operations, air cargo handling, and business functions. This programme offers interns the chance to gain real-world experience in a fast-paced environment, working alongside experts in aviation. Duties and Responsibilities
- Ground Handling Interns:
- Support ground handling operations, including aircraft loading/unloading, baggage handling, and aircraft servicing.
- Assist with safety checks and compliance with aviation regulations.
- Help manage passenger services, including check-in, boarding, and special assistance services.
- Air Cargo Handling Interns:
- Assist with air cargo logistics, including cargo acceptance, handling, and dispatch.
- Work on inventory management, cargo documentation, and customer coordination.
- Contribute to the smooth movement of goods, adhering to safety and security protocols.
- Business/Operations Interns:
- Support business operations, such as resource planning, financial analysis, and operational reporting.
- Assist in marketing, sales, and customer relationship management.
- Help optimize processes to enhance efficiency and service delivery.
Education
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a relevant degree program (e.g., Aviation Management, Logistics, Business, Engineering, or related fields).
- Strong academic background in your field of study.
Experience
- Previous internship or part-time work experience in logistics, aviation, customer service, or operations is preferred but not required.
- Exposure to fast-paced work environments is a plus.
Skills
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and commitment to safety and operational standards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); familiarity with logistics or operations management systems is a plus.
